Research task 30/9/19
I am researching how to set up and use a camera 'how to' videos.
This first video is very informative and explains each point so that you know what to do to get the result that you want rater than a basic standard of ideas. It is shot well and the editing makes it flow better than the others. The examples given are useful and all the details are given without being over or under-explained. However, there are some unnecessary points and it could be explained faster.
This video is also very well edited and has good lighting and camera quality so it makes it look very professional and well thought through so that nothing seems like it was rushed or left out.
I feel like this first video is the best 'how-to' video as it feels the most professional and it does a good job at getting the point across and helping the audience understand the topic. It helps beginners learn how to use the camera and the detail given is just enough not to scare them away and give them what they need to go and film.
This next video is a bit longer and drawn out but it gives you the difference between two different cameras giving you options post-production as well as with different video options. In some parts, it feels a bit slow but again it is shot well and has good editing. It does get a bit boring and feels like it is trying to explain a bit too much in the time given.
Again this video does look very professional as the set up where the woman is talking is well lit and the camera quality is good so that the editing is easy and each shot looks natural and well put together.
I think this video has both good and bad qualities to it as it is an overall informative and well put together video but it is slightly overwhelming and tries to explain too much in the time given. It gets a bit boring and hard to watch as you go into it and also it sometimes explains too much about one topic. However, it does give the required information and it is easier to watch than the final video.
The final video is very concise and gives you the very basics of how to set up and use a camera however in some ways it loses the audience and for beginners it is too fast and there are too many keywords they might not understand. It does include all the information needed and has a concise way of explaining the different options.
This video looks the least professional as the video stays just on the camera and doesn't have much editing within it so it is one constant shot that doesn't look very professional and the camera quality is OK but not as good as the others.
I believe this video is the worst explanation as it leaves out too much information that is needed and instead gives a bit too much information that is unnecessary so it drags out the short video. It leaves the audience feeling a bit unaccomplished and even though it would be good for people who know the terminology of cameras, it leaves many wondering and searching up how to understand what they just watched.
